Calgon take me away!!!!

(468x60.php)

Man that’s an old commercial, and for those of you who haven’t ever seen one here is a clip:

That’s exactly how  I feel this morning!

It all started last night.  I went to gym as usual and got done around 10pm, just in time for Tony to get home from work.  We decide we want to pay-per-view a movie since we had no new movies from Netflix yet.  I shower, he gets his dinner ready and then we sit down to watch the movie.  I try to order the movie and since we don’t have a phone line hooked up I had to call in and order the movie.

I call and order the movie and everything seems to be ok and when I go back to my tv and try to exit out of the pay-per-view order screen, my tv/remote freezes, for what felt like forever.  So after a minute or so it unfreezes and turns off my DVR receiver.  It tried to load back up and it is stuck on the checking disc screen (we have Directv and it has to check the disc and then the satellite connection) and it reads, don’t do anything but this may take up to 30 min.  It never takes long, maybe 30 seconds to a minute.  Well 15 min later and it is still on the screen.

I decided to call Directv and after 45 minutes on the phone with them, the representative tells me that my receiver box is broken and they have to send me a new one.  Now if I can go back a couple weeks, I had a problem with the receiver and I called the company that installed the service (a third party contractor) he said he couldn’t find anything wrong (even though I told him the problems don’t happen all the time and I wouldn’t be able to duplicate the problems)and he would swap the remote but he didn’t want to give me a new box because he said he only had 2 with him.  He leaves and not 5 minutes later it happens again.

Well I guess my DVR couldn’t handle the pressure of playing a pay-per-view and it just broke.  Now we have 2 other receivers (not DVR’s) one in my daughters room that we had disconnected because of her poor performance in school.  We tried to get that one hooked up again so we could use it in the living room.  I give the representative the ID number to the card/disc and she said OUR card number was issued to another person/another account.  So then we had to take the receiver out of our room and that one worked just fine.

We now
have a DVR being Fed-X’d to us and should get here by Tuesday.  I never realized how much I love it until it’s gone.  I record so many things and I love being able to pause/ff/rewind my shows.

It’s now Sunday morning.  Things are going great and then my power flickers off.  I am not sure if anyone else ever experiences this but in Florida we have power surges a lot.  It happens once or twice, I think nothing of it.  It’s now noon and it has happened more than a dozen times.  Well enough that it seems like as soon as I get my electronics back on it flickers back off.  I am really worried it is going to break computers or my projector/tv.

To top it all, Lil Tony is in his cranky mood and screaming over everything.  He is trying to move a toy and it gets stuck…..he screams, I take something away he shouldn’t play with….he screams.   Then Isabel has hit her “I’m starving all the time” day.  She does that, for a week or so she will eat very little (and not be hungry) and then one or two days she wants to eat like every 2-3 hours it seems.

“CALGON, TAKE ME AWAY!!!!”

I told Tony this morning that a great present/treat for me would be one of his days off, to just let me stay in bed all day.  Come out when I chose and have NO RESPONSIBILITY.  I am not sure how long it will last because I love seeing my kids and Tony and I don’t spend nearly enough time together but just to stay in bed and eat my breakfast, drink my coffee and watch Regis and Kelly.  That would be SPLENDID!!!!

Anyways, off to try and make my day better.

It must be the city that you live in that experiences heavy electrical usage because in Sarasota we rarely get those moments of power surges. I hope the rest of your week is better.

A little bit about my family:
I am a SAHM of 4 wonderful children and I have the most amazing boyfriend! I am trying to get my online business up and running. Paper crafts and scrapbooking is what I love to do in my free time (when I get some, 4 kids keep me busy) and to try and turn my hobby into a way to make money so I can stay home with my kids that would be wonderful. If you are in to paper crafting and scrapbooking or know someone that is please check out my online store: Artfuldelight.com. Nicki, Tony, Isabel and Max are the joy in my life, I love being home with them but sometimes money can be tight. Hopefully I can have some success with this store.
