I live on the east coast and the New Year is upon us. (well 2 short hours from now) I am so excited to get 2009 started. We have some wonderful things in store for our family this year. I think 2008 was a rough year and happy it is coming to an end.

I really hope everyone is having a safe and wonderful holiday. Unfortunately Tony is working so I will be ringin’ in the New Year alone. Sweet Isabel is already asleep, Bubby is not going to make it much longer and Boo is too busy playing computer games.

Happy New Year ya’ll…..see ya next year!:-)

Venture Arctic Computer Game Review

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

My family loves video games.  Whether it’s Nintendo DS, Playstation or computer games, we love games  So when Mom Fuse asked if I would like to review a computer game I graciously accepted.

Venture Artic by Brighter Minds gives you the opportunity to experiment with how animal relationships change when the weather is unreasonably warm or when an animal is knocked out of the food chain.

You can unlock 22 different animal species and multiple environments.  There are two settings one is for adults, which is a little harder.  Then there is a kids level which is a little easier.

It is fairly easy to maneuver through the seasons and levels.  It takes a little bit of time to figure what each function does but I think it is a wonderful educational game.  You can slide your mouse over the various animals and they give info about them.  It allows you to be a part of the action, from the changing of the seasons to clicking on an animal and mating them in the right season.

We were also sent these great fridge magnets. There are way better than the normal plastic ones with the magnet glued in the back. Those always break and hurt pretty bad when you step on them. lol The magnets that we were sent are foam.  It would seem as though the whole thing was a magnet covered with foam, very soft and the magnet is not going to fall out.

He is just too smart for me!

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

My son is just one step ahead of me.  I went through my house and stuck the outlet covers in all my outlets.  I totally didn’t think that he would figure those out.  Well just a few minutes ago I caught him pulling out the cover and putting it back in….over and over again.  AAHHHH!!!

The other day I gave in and put a gate up to block off the kitchen.  He spilled olive oil all over the floor and that was the breaking point for me.  I was tired of cleaning up after him in the kitchen and yelling at him to get away from the stove or stop playing in the sink.

Well he knows how the gate comes apart.  He isn’t quite strong enough to pull it yet but it is only a matter of time.  It isn’t one of those wooden gates it’s a plastic Safety 1st with the handle on the top.  You have to push a button and pull up on the handle.  He knows he is supposed to do that and he was trying really hard the other day.  I just can’t seem to keep him out of things.  I have a great video and pictures to post in a little bit of him.  He is crazy! lol

iGo Everywhere Power Adapter Review

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

I was recently given the opportunity to review the power adapter from iGo.  We are a family of gadgets.  We all have cell phones, we don’t have a home phone at all.  We have a couple digital cameras, Nintendo DS, a laptop, and Zunes.  So this device is wonderful because it comes with a car charger and wall plug.  I love that it has the car charger because I don’t always remember to charge my phone at night and when I am out and about running errands, my phone battery dies.  So I have the convenience of using it at home or on the go.

They sell attachments for a wide variety of gadgets.  I was sent one for my phone, Zune and digital camera.

I also listen to my Zune in the car and when the battery gets low it is nice that I  could charge it.

I was sent the iGo Everywhere Power Adaptor.

    Stride Rite Early Walkers Review

    Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

I was recently given the opportunity to review a pair of Stride Rite shoes.

I have always been a fan of their shoes.  11 yrs ago when my daughter started walking, everyone said I should get Stride Rite shoes.  I did and they were great.

These were the pair I got for my daughter.  Well they were a little different.

With 85 years experience, Stride Rite has learned a few things about their craft.  They have a 3-point testing system.  First and foremost they must be tough enough to stand up to the rumble and tumble of an active child.

Stage One-Fit…5 stages of testing on kids to get the perfect fit

Stage Two-Wear…between 30 to 45 day kid testing to make sure their shoes are like no other and are better than you expect

Stage Three-Lab…rigorous lab test make sure each new material and component they use meets Stride Rite’s standards.  They perform 30 to 40 tests per shoe.

The pair of shoes I was given to review are absolutely adorable.  First of all they came in a really cute box.

They have a really soft leather and the soles are really flexible.  They have a Velcro tab to open and close and a large opening to get those lil’ feet in.  Sounds funny to need a large opening for little feet but like with my son he would ball his feet up and he made it really difficult to get any shoe on.   All my kids have had fat stubby feet and finding shoes that fit were difficult.  With my son he hated wearing shoes, he didn’t even really wear any until a couple months ago.  So with these shoes having the wide opening is really helpful.

I like that they are not stiff like some of the other brands of shoes.  When children are learning to walk they need that flexibility and these Stride Rite shoes are perfect.  Stride Rite has put a lot of their knowledge and testing into their shoes to make them perfect for any child.

Check out Stride Rite to see all the wonderful styles they have to offer.

Thanks again Mom Fuse and Stride Rite for this opportunity.

    Christmas pictures!

    Monday, December 29th, 2008

We had a great morning!  We live in FL and none of our family lives here so it was really just a morning of festivities with the 5 of us.

Tony had to work later in the day so we all got up around 9am and opened our presents.  After the fun of opening presents was over, Tony and I made a delicious breakfast.  Tony made a homemade sausage gravy for biscuits and gravy and it was yummy.  We had pancakes, eggs and turkey bacon also.  It was a great morning!  After breakfast and gifts we just spent some family time together before Tony had to leave.

Well here are a few snaps of my happy family Christmas morning:

Image and video hosting by TinyPicBoo is such a nerd, those are some fuzzy pants she wanted to rub her face all over. LOL!

The 5th picture you can see our pathetic tree in the background, it stood a whole foot and a half tall.  LOL!  Even that one Bubby started to mess with a couple days before Christmas.  I was going to take it down but I just couldn’t remove our last piece of christmas spirit.

Hope you and all your families had a wonderful holiday and good things to come to all of you in 2009!

A little bit about my family:
I am a SAHM of 4 wonderful children and I have the most amazing boyfriend! I am trying to get my online business up and running. Paper crafts and scrapbooking is what I love to do in my free time (when I get some, 4 kids keep me busy) and to try and turn my hobby into a way to make money so I can stay home with my kids that would be wonderful. If you are in to paper crafting and scrapbooking or know someone that is please check out my online store: Artfuldelight.com. Nicki, Tony, Isabel and Max are the joy in my life, I love being home with them but sometimes money can be tight. Hopefully I can have some success with this store.
