Pineapple Topper

Monday, January 26th, 2009

Has anybody ever done anything with the pineapple top?  Did you know that if you plant it, it will grow?  Well I sure didn’t!

Tony told me that if you plant the top, it will grow real big and grow a new pineapple.  I thought, no way!  So he brought home, from work, about 6 tops.  I planted 4.  They all grew but 1 of the 4 grew much bigger than the others.  When we moved I only kept the healthiest one.

Tony said it would take a couple years for the pineapple to finally grow.  A couple weeks ago I thought it was dead.  It is outside on the patio, where I never go so it was not getting water.  I felt bad but realized I had made the mistake of not watering it.

Just when I thought it was dead, Nicki came to me today and said a plant was growing in the middle.  I was shocked.  So I decided to trim up some of the dead leaves on the bottom, give the plant a huge helping of water and now it looks so much better.

Here are some pics:

I think that is awesome. It took about a year to get this far. I wonder how much longer until I get a pineapple?

Review: SKINN Repair Serum

Happy Anniversary to me!  Here’s to 12 dedicated years of having stretch marks!  They have stuck by my side……I mean my side, my belly and my boobs for 12 wonderful years.  :-)

I have always wondered whether an anti stretch mark cream would actually work.  Like I stated before, I hate to buy new things and spend the money on something that may not work.  If it doesn’t I will feel I just wasted a bunch of money for nothing.

I was given the opportunity to review SKINN Repair Serum, I happily accepted.  I have used the product for a week or so now and I can see a bit of improvement.

The first thing I noticed was that the serum wasn’t thick and sticky.  It was very smooth and gave a nice thin coat on my skin.  I didn’t feel gooey and caked with cream.  I am very pleased with the serum and I did notice a difference.  My stretch marks were a little lighter and my skin felt tighter.  It made my skin smooth and moisturized.  The serum had a pleasant lemon scent, not too strong.  I am always skeptical when I comes to products like this however I do feel that this product worked pretty good.  Check out the Skinn website to see the variety of products they have to offer.

“This exquisite serum was developed specifically to work with the needs of the skin on your body. This superior formulation combines pure plant extracts with advanced peptide technology in a deep penetrating delivery system. It will diminish stretch marks while firming and toning the skin around your hips, thighs, midriff, neck and décolleté.”

Thanks again Mom Fuse and Skinn for this wonderful opportunity!

The uncertainty is over!

Saturday, January 24th, 2009

I hate uncertainty!  A couple weeks ago Tony’s boss gave him the option of moving to the Tampa area and voluntarily taking a demotion.  Now when we first came back out to FL (from NV) and he was asked to come back to work for his company, he made it clear he didn’t want to be a General Manager.  They showed urgency to him filling the position and the District Manager at the time said he would make really good money and that the restaurant was running well.

That was not all the truth.  He has been working far too much over the last year and a half and not really making as much as he should be.  He originally wanted to be a kitchen manager.  He told the DM at the time that he would try it out for 6 months.  He didn’t like it 2 months in to it but couldn’t do much about it because they really needed him.

So when she asked if he wanted to go to another location where he would  work less and more than likely make the same….it wasn’t a hard decision.  The only thing we needed was to figure things out with our apartment.  That’s a whole other story all in itself.  We also needed the go ahead from his job, because at the time (2 weeks ago) they didn’t have a replacement for him.

Well today he told his boss that we found a place (which we did) and it was a really good house.  It will actually cost us $525 less a month than what we pay in South Florida.  Which means if he makes the same money then we will be way better off.

Now all we need to do is take care of all the financials with renting this house and pack up.  We will be moving in 3 weeks.  I am so excited.  I am done with South Florida.  I remember the Tampa area being so much more friendly.  I really want to settle down and stop moving…..however I will move until I find somewhere I can be happy.  It most certainly is not in South Florida.

I’ve seen 127 out of 239 films!

Saturday, January 24th, 2009

I thought I had seen a lot of movies until I went through this list of 239 movies.  I had only seen just over half on the list.  I saw this on Kat’s blog and was amazed at how many she had seen.

There are 239 movies on the list, place an “X” next to the ones you’ve seen.  Add them up…and post it on your site with the header “I’ve seen ____ out of 239 films!”

It would seem as though most of the ones I have not seen are all the scary movies….I DON”T care for them.  The only reason I would watch it is if Tony wanted to.

Cheaper Than Therapy

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Sibling Love: You can’t get any more precious than that. My children are just under 12 months apart. My son was born July 27 and my daughter was born July 17. They are 18 months and 6 months and already the best of friends. The bond they have already, warms my heart.

It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood…

a beautiful day for a neighbor. Would you be mine? Could you be mine?
LOL! It is such a fabulous day here in South Florida. My a/c is off and my windows are open. A light cool breeze is flowing through my apartment.

The temps here are currently 59 degrees. It is absolutely a great day. I love listening to the noises from outside, the traffic, the trees rustling and people talking. I sure am enjoying the cooler weather.

A little bit about my family:
I am a SAHM of 4 wonderful children and I have the most amazing boyfriend! I am trying to get my online business up and running. Paper crafts and scrapbooking is what I love to do in my free time (when I get some, 4 kids keep me busy) and to try and turn my hobby into a way to make money so I can stay home with my kids that would be wonderful. If you are in to paper crafting and scrapbooking or know someone that is please check out my online store: Artfuldelight.com. Nicki, Tony, Isabel and Max are the joy in my life, I love being home with them but sometimes money can be tight. Hopefully I can have some success with this store.
