Magic Senses – Designer Glycerin Soap Review and BONUS Giveaway!

Saturday, February 28th, 2009

I received a package in the mail the other day, when I opened my mailbox it was filled with a wonderful scent.  I didn’t realize until after I looked at the package that it was what was coming from the envelope.

I opened the mailing envelope and the scent just billowed out, it was such a pretty smell.  Then I also remembered that I had to actually use the soap.  LOL!  It is so pretty and smells so good that I just wanted to put it on display in my bathroom.

The butterfly soap is absolutely adorable and very well made.  The soap lathers up really nice and it leaves my hands feeling clean.  It doesn’t leave any filmy residue or dry out my hands.

Magic Senses is a family owned company founded in 2005 with a mission to handcraft unique personal care products.  They have grown so much over the year that they now have 55 different scents and designs.

I have my soap in the hall bathroom and I can smell the scent of the soap all through my living room. It is great!

In addition to the BONUS giveaway Magic Senses is also offering a discount coupon code that expires December 31, 2009.

Code: mom

Discount:  15% off

Minimum order: $15

Note: the coupon is good for all categories with the exception of the Soap Subscriptions and the produts already on sale.

I am really pleased with the soap and will probably be purchasing some for my new place I am moving to next week.  I personally would like the French Vanilla Handcrafted Glycerin Soap.

Less than 48 hours…..

…until we get the moving truck!  Tony is actually counting down the hours until he is done at his job out here.  He will be with the same company when we move, he just CAN’T STAND the people that work for him out here in South Florida.

I definitely have to say I am now a pro at moving.  Even with 3 kids I feel I am WAY MORE prepared this time.  I am all packed except half the kitchen and the kids toys all over the living room.

I have even begun the “cleaning process” when you move.  I still have the rest of today and all day tomorrow to finish up.  Hopefully by Monday morning everything will all come together.

Tomorrow will be a good day because Tony sold his Buick. He has been trying to sell it for about a month.  We put an ad on Craigslist and someone called earlier in the week and said he was really interested.  The Buick is mostly for parts, it has a bad-ass engine but if someone wanted to actually drive it, they would need some tires and to do some serious clean up on the inside.  We are going to end up getting $500 less than we wanted.

Here’s the way I see it though.  If we don’t sell it then we have to tow it out to our new place, 5 hours away.  We will need to spend another $100 just for the towing equipment and then spend more on gas from towing the car.  See we have the explorer and the moving truck ( I will drive one, Tony will drive the other) and then we have Tony’s “play” car….the one he is working on to make it FAST!  VROOM-VROOM!

So I would have to tow one car and Tony would have to tow another if we kept the Buick.  Not only would we be dishing out the extra money  to get the Buick to our new place, then if we keep it, that’s more money we have to put in to it.  If we sell it out by our new place, who’s to say we will get the full asking price.  So I will take the money the guy wants to offer us.

Selling the Buick=more crafting supplies for me!  I see a win-win situation….for me that is. LOL!  Just kidding, well not about the crafting supplies but about being selfish with the money.  There is a good deal of money in saving for Tony to use on his “play” car.  So I get some fun too, right?  I have been trying to get my online business going and get a bunch of Stampin’ UP! products since I am a demonstrator now.  So I have been spending some money on that but Tony agrees with all the money I have been spending on that stuff.

Anyways, so Monday morning we will pick up the Budget truck rental bright and early at 8:30am.  Tony will drive home and begin packing while I drive to Nicki’s school and submit her paperwork for withdrawal.

I am hoping to be done loading the truck by dinner time so we can get some take out, watch some TV and call it an early night.

My cousin is driving down to South Florida from Tampa as we are driving up to Tampa so we may meet along the way for lunch.  I have not seen her in OVER 6 yrs.  We have both had 2 kids since the last we’ve seen each other.  She actually just had one like a few weeks ago.

Well off to play with my kids, Lil T is having a nervous break down because I am not paying attention to him.

**Don’t forget to get in on my GIVEAWAYS they start tomorrow!!!**

Don’t mess with women!

Friday, February 27th, 2009

I received an email from a friend today, I thought it was funny and wanted to share…LOL!

The FBI had an opening for an assassin. After all the background checks, interviews and testing were done, there were 3 finalists;  Two men and a woman.  For the final test, the FBI agents took one of the men to a large metal door and handed him a gun. ‘We must know that you will follow your instructions no matter what the circumstances. Inside the room you will find your wife sitting in a chair . . . Kill her!’
The man said, 'You can't be serious. I could never shoot my wife.' The agent said, ‘Then you’re not the right man for this job. Take your wife and go home.’
The second man was given the same instructions. He took the gun and went into the room. All was quiet for about 5 minutes. The man came out with tears in his eyes, 'I tried, but I can't kill my wife.'
The agent said, 'You don't have what it takes. Take your wife and go home.'
Finally, it was the woman's turn. She was given the same instructions, to kill her husband. She took the gun and went into the room. Shots were heard,
one after another. They heard screaming, crashing, banging on the walls. After a few minutes, all was quiet. The door opened slowly and there stood the woman, wiping the sweat from her brow.
'This gun is loaded with blanks' she said. 'I had to beat him to death with the chair.’
MORAL: Women are crazy. Don't mess with them.

Extreme Makeover – Home Edition

Friday, February 27th, 2009

I just love that show.  I watch the reruns on TVLand every weekday.  No matter how many shows they do and I watch, I usually end up crying when they say “MOVE THAT BUS” and I see the families reaction.

I love that they help deserving families and I am just amazed that they can finish these houses in 7 days.  I mean these houses are huge, usually, and very detailed and filled with beautiful furniture.

They usually help people who have experienced a natural disaster or have a disability or a life threatening disease and they have an unsafe home.

Yesterday I watched a show where the girl had a blood transfusion and hasn’t been able to live in her mold ridden house in 10 months.  They built them a safe, clean home to come home to.

They also helped a family with a son that has cerebral palsy.  This boy was kicked off his baseball team because they thought he was too much of a health risk.  The mother took that opportunity to start a baseball team for children with disabilities.

At the age of 14 (the show aired 3 yrs ago) he was moved to a larger wheelchair which kept him from maneuvering around his house as well as he would like to.

Ty and the team came in and gave this family the home of their dreams.

I just think they do such a good thing for families in need, just like Habitat for Humanity does.  I would love to volunteer my help to Habitat for Humanity.  I don’t have the money to be able to donate to charities or anything and not that I have any skills to build a home..LOL! But I would just love to help.

Book Review – Travia: The Ultimate Book of Travel Trivia

Thursday, February 26th, 2009

I was given the opportunity from Mom Fuse to review a book of my choice from Intrepid Traveler.  They have a list of great informational books.  The book I chose was Travia:  The Ultimate Book of Travel Trivia by Nadine Godwin.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I chose this book because I thought my daughter would enjoy reading facts about different parts of the world.  Some of you may be a veteran of travel or may be traveling for the first time but I think you will find these facts very interesting.

I mean when you go on a Cruise do you really think about what goes in to making your voyage an enjoyable one.  Just the basics from your meals to the little pieces of chocolate on your pillow.

The Carnival Cruise Lines’ largest ships which accommodate up to 2,974 passengers uses 30,000 towels and 5 million bars of soap. It also requires 58,000 light bulbs in a year.

There is a place in New Zealand with the longest name, 58 letters:

Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupokai-whenuakitanatahu

How do you say that?  LOL!

Or there is the shortest name place of Y, Alaska and Y, France.

I haven’t made my way through the whole book yet as I am going through a move right now but it seems to me it’s one of those books that you can pick up and read a few pages at a time and get some really interesting facts.  I couldn’t see myself sitting down for long periods of time getting completely entranced in reading, like I would a thriller or love story.  It is a very informative book with an abundance of facts from all over the world. Things you never really thought about before, during or after your travels.

If you want to learn more interesting facts, purchase this book…Travia:  The Ultimate Book of Travel Trivia.

About the Author:

Nadine Godwin is one of the most experienced and respected journalists in the travel and tourism industry.  She began 34 yrs ago with Travel Weekly, America’s leading travel newspaper.  She worked her way to the top, starting as a reporter to managing editor to editor in chief.  She is now Travel Weekly’s editor at large.  She frequently speaks at travel events, she is the author of thousands of articles about the travel business.  She is a friend and confidante to hundreds of travel industry colleagues from whom the “travia” items were collected.

Planning a trip to Disney World or Disneyland?  Well check out Intrepid Traveler and see all the great books they have to help you in your travels.  Taking an RV trip in Europe, they have just the book for you.

So with that I leave you with this tidbit of information:  Did you know there is an American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR).  They have about 50,000 members in North America and they help them find resorts and other facilities for clothes-free/clothing-optional vacations.

WOW!  I didn’t realize there were that many people out there that enjoy vacationing nude.  :-)

Thanks again Mom Fuse and Intrepid Traveler for this great opportunity!

A little bit about my family:
I am a SAHM of 4 wonderful children and I have the most amazing boyfriend! I am trying to get my online business up and running. Paper crafts and scrapbooking is what I love to do in my free time (when I get some, 4 kids keep me busy) and to try and turn my hobby into a way to make money so I can stay home with my kids that would be wonderful. If you are in to paper crafting and scrapbooking or know someone that is please check out my online store: Artfuldelight.com. Nicki, Tony, Isabel and Max are the joy in my life, I love being home with them but sometimes money can be tight. Hopefully I can have some success with this store.
