Road Trip

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

I love the Price is Right.  When Drew Carey first became the host, taking over for Bob Barker I was a little disappointed.  I thought no one could take his place.

I will say that over the months I have really grown to like him.  He adds humor and variety to the show.  I have always wanted to be on the show and now that I really like Drew Carey as a host, I would love to be on there.

Maybe Tony and I could take a road trip to California.  Stay in a few different towns a long the way.  Maybe stay in a San Diego hotel while we are there.  That would be cool.   I would just love to get up on stage.  Some people have all the luck.  I want to win a car or some money.  :-)

Financial protection

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

As our family grows and the years go by, it sinks in more and more how old I am getting.  I mean I’m by no means old but I am certainly not getting younger.  I worry about my kids future.  I hear about a lot of car accidents and crime and it worries me, what if that could be me or Tony.  Financially, where would our kids be if either Tony or I died.

Tony and I have joked (we do that very well with each other) saying that it would suck if he dies, not because I’d miss him but because we don’t have life insurance.

*I would really like to mention that Tony and I love each other greatly, we say it so much it would make anyone want to puke.  The jokes we have with each other is what makes me love him and him love me.  We know joking like that is a joke.  I point this out so I don’t get any hate mail for being so harsh.*

Anyways, in all actuality I do wonder if we need to get some cheap life insurance.  I say cheap because quite frankly that’s really all we could afford but for the financial security for our kids, I think it’s necessary.

When will it end!!!!!!!

I am just a wee bit pissed right now.  We moved out here so Tony can have more time at home and to be able to take a demotion and us be able to pay our bills with the cut in pay.  Don’t get me wrong, out decision to be here is still the best thing.  We pay way less in bills and live in a much happier town.

What pisses me off is when we first moved out here, the restaurant Tony was going to was only on 5 day work weeks.  Most of you will say, well that’s normal.  Well not for Tony’s company.  Just today he had to go in an hour early to have a manager’s meeting and he was informed that they will be going on 6 day work weeks.  WTF!!!!!  I am beyond pissed.  I have so much anger inside that I am feeling a bit light headed.  I am so tired of him working his ass off for nothing.  Also just before we moved they completely changed the bonus structure.  It is way more difficult to get a bonus now and if they do, it is half of what he would have gotten before.  WTF!!!!!  Ok so I know the economy is in a crunch but the owner of his restaurant is building more locations.  So they can’t be hurting that much!!  WTF!!!!  They also took away hourly employees paid vacations.

Again, I need to be thankful he has a job.  I can accept the pay cut and the less/more difficult to get bonus.  But honestly, I can’t deal with having to work 6 days.  It just sucks.  Our family is growing and he just needs to work 5 day work weeks.  He needs time home with his family.  I am hoping this is extremely temporary but I won’t get my hopes up at this point.

Oh my babies are growing up WAY TOO FAST! Sweet Isabel is now pulling herself up on the couch, trying to stand.  I love the thought that she will be walking and running soon, it just means they are growing up.  That makes me sad, I want my babies to stay little forever.  Well at least for a little longer.  She has the most wonderful personality.  Her and her brother just sit for the longest time and entertain each other.  Making faces or goofy noises to make each other laugh.  I usually have to lay in their room for a little bit at nap to make sure they fall asleep and this afternoon Isabel kept pressing her face against the mesh on the play pen she sleeps in and trying to make me laugh.  She just laughed and laughed, it was so cute.

As for my lil man, I have been putting him on the potty every now and again.  Sometimes he wakes in the morning and his diaper is completely dry so I put him on the potty.  I have been getting a little more consistent over the last week and pretty much every time I put him on the toilet he goes pee pee.  Well this evening before we took a bath I put him on the potty and he made a little pee pee but he also pushed out 2 lil poop nuggets.  I was so proud.  I just can’t believe only after a few times sitting on the toilet, he gets the concept of what is supposed to be done.  He is only 20 months, that makes me proud.  Nicki was not potty trained until almost 3.  I mean she would pee on the toilet but could not get her to go poop.  I feel convinced that if he could talk, he would be potty trained.

As for Nicki, well she walks and is potty trained, LOL!  She did however, bring home her report card the other day and she got straight A’s.  Now she wants to keep reminding me that it was only for 15 days since we had just moved but still.  She was getting good grades before we moved too.  She is also in Advanced Math and she got an A in there.  That makes me happy.
I am just so proud.  My children are all growing up and growing up fast.  Nicki will be 12 next week.  Only 3 SHORT yrs until she can get her driving permit.  OMG!  I worry about her playing in our front yard or down the street with her friends.  How ever am I going to handle her driving and being on the road.  WOW, well I have the next 3 yrs to mentally prepare myself.

I was given the opportunity by Mom Fuse and Bon Bon Cupcake to review these adorable leggings.  They are Microfiber Ruffle Leggings and I must say absolutely adorable.

First, they are packaged in this cute plastic box that you can see through and see a beautifully wrapped, like a cupcake, pair of leggings.

So creative, I love it.  As much as I loved the Double Layer Leggings which have a variety of styles from polka dots to cheerleader styles, I chose a pair of the Basic Leggings.  Also very adorable, they just have solid colors, that I thought would work better for my daughters wardrobe.

The great thing about Microfiber is they let your skin breathe. They are not to warm and stuffy which is great for us since we live in Florida which is warm almost all year round.
They have a great selection of leggings from basic leggings to double layered leggings and even holiday leggings.

Image and video hosting by TinyPicI love these pair.

They also have a wide range of sizes, they start at 0-9 months and go all the way up to 6-8 yrs of age.  I just think that they are very well presented and very well made.

Now here is the coolest part, Bon Bon Cupcakes is offering one of my readers a chance to win a pair for their lil one.

I will make this giveaway easy too, all you have to do is visit the Bon Bon Cupcakes website and come back here and comment on which pair you would chose.  You can have your choice of any one pair with the exception of the Cupcakes with Icing Leggings.

That’s it!  This giveaway will end April 30th @ 11:59pm EST.  So don’t delay, enter today!  Thanks again Mom Fuse and Bon Bon Cupcakes for this wonderful opportunity!

Will my dreams come true?

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

A couple years ago Tony and I were talking about wanting to buy a TON of land out in the middle of nowhere and raise our family.  We had searched online for places that sold land.  We found several sites, I made some calls just to get some information.  We wanted to build a steel framed house like The Duggars did.  Well as usual things in our life have changed over the last couple yrs.  We have some additions to the family we moved back to a town we are happy, in a neighborhood we like.  So maybe we will be content.  When we first planned on getting a large plot of land we also wanted to have animals.  Horses and such.  We wanted to build a barn and possibly start a business like The Roloff’s. Matt Rolloff says he makes enough from his annual pumpkin patch, to support his family all year.

The downfall to this whole wonderful plan is we knew how much money we would need to have to get everything started.  Just to buy the land and build the house and get the horse, horse supplies…..start the pumpkin patch……..you get the point.  We just don’t have the means to have that kind of money.    Will I stop waking up everyday thinking SOMEDAY my dreams will come true?  Not a chance.

Will I still strive to get my dream house, my dream life for me and my family…not a chance.  I do know though that it is however, becoming more realistic that we will be staying in our house…possibly in Florida.  Since I am back to a place I am happy, I am somewhat content with this decision.  I just want my kids to have a stable, consistent lifestyle.  I am tired of moving.  I want somewhere my kids can call HOME. Ya know what I mean?

Dreams are wonderful, reality makes me feel safe!

Need to make changes….

With the new baby coming, maybe I need to spruce up the house.  I will be hitting my “nesting” symptoms before too long.

Now I know it may sound bad but I will be having my 3 lil ones share a room.  We plan on getting bunk beds when Lil T can finally be trusted in a big boy bed.  I say trusted because when it’s time for bed he likes to entertain Isabel.  He climbs out of his crib so he runs around the room and laughs which in turn makes Isabel laugh.  So with the bunk beds, this way Bel and Bubby can share that.  The newest addition will be in a crib for at least the next 2 yrs.  So I really won’t have to worry about more beds for 3+ yrs.  They have a decent sized room but it’s not like they play in it so having a large one isn’t necessary.

They need bunk beds and maybe I will get a few area rugs.  It is sort of hard to do because we have blue carpets, our color motif doesn’t match blue very well.  Renting sometimes sucks.

Anyways, we could put one of the area rugs in the kids room.  I would love to get one that is the map of the US.  I think those are really cool and I think Lil T would love it when he gets a little older.  I would also like to get one for the living room.  The one we had I put in our bedroom.  It looked a little out of place in the living room.  The living room is bigger than in the past house/apartment so it just didn’t look right.

So back to the lil ones’ room, maybe I will also get some of those wood block letters and decorate the walls with their names.  My mom cross stitches a birth announcement type picture for each of my children so I also have that on the walls.  The dresser we have for them had to go in the walk in closet, with the fear that Lil T would try and climb it.  When he is done sleeping, he climbs out of his crib and sometimes I don’t hear him and I would be afraid he would climb the dresser.  It is nearly 6ft tall.

I would like to paint the walls too but since we rent and we have not settled down in the last couple yrs, I would hate to paint and then in 10 months if we decided to move, have to paint the walls back to the original color.  I hope we stay here for a long time or possibly buy the house in a couple yrs….I just never know.  As long as Tony is working for the current company, we are stuck in a town where they are.  If he ever decides to venture somewhere else then maybe we will move.  I don’t know.

A little bit about my family:
I am a SAHM of 4 wonderful children and I have the most amazing boyfriend! I am trying to get my online business up and running. Paper crafts and scrapbooking is what I love to do in my free time (when I get some, 4 kids keep me busy) and to try and turn my hobby into a way to make money so I can stay home with my kids that would be wonderful. If you are in to paper crafting and scrapbooking or know someone that is please check out my online store: Artfuldelight.com. Nicki, Tony, Isabel and Max are the joy in my life, I love being home with them but sometimes money can be tight. Hopefully I can have some success with this store.
