My baby girl, Isabel, is almost 9 months and she has not cut her first tooth yet. Lil T was about 7 months and he had several. He was eating pancakes and such by the time he was 9 months. So needless to say Isabel is definitely still on baby food.
Well the last couple days my sweet Bel has been a little under the weather. She likes to put EVERYTHING in her mouth so my first thought was she swallowed something. She was spiking a fever and had been really sleepy lately. She also had been having some diarrhea. I figured, or at least I wanted to believe that since she had pooped several times since the last time she had really been playing with toys that whatever she swallowed would have had to come out by now. See, for the last 2-3 days since she has been under the weather someone had been holding her at all times. Mostly me but sometimes big sissy or daddy. Since I had not seen her put anything in her mouth lately I wanted to believe it couldn’t have been that she swallowed something and she was being affected by it. As a mother though, I still worried.
She was still eating normal, having an appetite. What bothered me the most is her fevers, the last one she had rose to 103 degrees. I mean that warm, we should have been at the hospital or doctors. The reason I didn’t do anything is because if I gave her Tylenol, her fever would go away within the hour and it wouldn’t come back the rest of the day. She basically got a fever once a day for 2-3 days and it instantly went away with Tylenol. She only spiked the fever that high once. I also thought that maybe it was that high because she was just cuddling on the couch, under some blankets with Nicki. You know, when you sleep your temperature rises. Well at least mine does. That is why I sleep with the air cranked to 69-70 degrees.
Well today she was completely fine. No fever and no crying. I am going to assume for now that she is just teething. Poor baby, she does not handle pain well.
On a different note, this is day 3 after finding out I am pregnant. So far so good. I have not really had any morning sickness. I get a little nauseous every now and again but nothing major. What does bother me is the burning in my stomach. I have had this problem since I was pregnant with Lil T. Well more so when I was pregnant with Isabel. I got heartburn pretty bad a couple times while I was pregnancy with Lil T but nothing consistent.
With Isabel, we had just moved out to South Florida (from Nevada) and every week for a couple months I had heart burn so bad that I couldn’t keep any food down. I thought if I got rid of whatever I ate, that the burning would stop. I hate to say heartburn because it wasn’t in my chest, it is in my belly. Several months into my pregnancy with Isabel, the burning stopped. After I had Isabel it came back real mild. It would burn for a few minutes and then pass.
One of the signs that made me think I was pregnant this time is the burning came back, more painful and more often. Now I get it every day and mostly right when I wake up and then a couple times throughout the day. When I was pregnant with Isabel and I talked to my doctor she said it was just acid reflux and there was nothing she could really do. Well I will tell you, it is extremely painful and very annoying.
Other than that, things are going well. If I were to guess at this point what we were having, I would say girl. Lil T’s pregnancy was miserable. The first 4 months I didn’t want to get off the couch and I couldn’t even keep liquids down. This pregnancy so far almost resembles when I was pregnant with Bel. None of the recent 3 pregnancies even come close to Nicki’s pregnancy though. It was the model, perfect pregnancy. Almost no morning sickness, barely no discomfort and the delivery went really smooth. Her pregnancy is what made me want to have more. I thought this was a piece of cake. I could have a million kids if all pregnancies were like Nicki’s. LOL! I was punished with my next pregnancy, it was HORRIBLE. From the date of conception to delivery, I was MISERABLE!
Anyways, it is getting late and I am off to bed.
