Going on a trip…..

Sunday, May 10th, 2009

We are flying out on Tuesday.  We are only going for 3 days, leaving Tuesday returning Thursday but I will be flying with all the kids.  I don’t want to go in to details about or trip until we know for certain the outcome of the trip but Tony will be traveling separate.

I am really nervous about the trip.  We are going to Virginia.  Tony’s family lives up there so we are going to make a little vacation out of this “business” trip.  I am nervous because lil Tony does not like to sit still for very long.  He doesn’t even like to go to Walmart 15 minutes away without screaming and trying to get out of his seat.  In order for the trip to be cheap the lil ones will have to sit on our laps.  Nicki will hold Isabel and I will try to keep lil Tony under control.

I would like to apologize now to all the passengers on my flight, sorry for my obnoxious child.  I am really excited though because Tony’s dad has not seen the kids since Isabel was only a couple weeks old.

I do know for certain that I will be bringing a lot of snacks.  I will probably bring some of our water bottles, the only ones we have are personalized water bottles but they will do just fine.  I am not sure what to do about toys because all the toys we have make noise.  I don’t think I can put the passengers under that much torture.

The other crappy thing is we have layovers on both flights.  On our way out there it is only an hour, it will probably take us about that long to get to our next gate.  The layover coming home is 2 hours.  Not to mention, our flight leaves at 6:30am and gets in to Maryland.  That was the only way we could get 2 tickets for the price of one taking us into to Dulles airport.  So after a 5 hours in and out of a plane we then have to drive 2 hours to get to Tony’s dad’s house.  Then when we come home our flight leaves at 9:30am and it leaves from Maryland.  So we will have to drive 2 hours before flying for 5 hours.  What am I getting myself in to.  We are always cooped up in the house, I am hoping all the excitement going on in the airports and being on the plane will make it that much easier for all of us to get through the day.

Lights on please!

I don’t know about you but I can’t sleep without my TV on, if it is too quiet I can’t stay asleep.  My children are getting to the age where they are probably going to want some sort of kids nightlights in their rooms.   They may start to be afraid of the dark or have nightmares.

I was given the opportunity to review an adorable Teddy Bear nightlight from night-lights.com.

Each nightlight features an easy on-off switch, UL listed components and it is gift boxed.

I  like that the plug swivels to accommodate horizontal and vertical outlets.  The Teddy Bear glass plate is also repositionable, swivels side to side.  I also like that the light doesn’t shine too bright to light up the whole room, just enough to give a little light.   These nightlights are very durable and well made with long lasting bulbs.  I love how beautiful the Teddy Bear illuminates at night, in the dark.  My children absolutely love the nightlight, I think it is a great addition to their room.

They have a wonderful selection of nightlights.  Some of the categories are seasonal, kids and baby, nature and garden and travel and leisure.  They are very affordable and great quality.  They would be a wonderful addition to your home or perfect to give as a gift.

Soy Candles by Soy Delights review

Thursday, May 7th, 2009

I was recently given the opportunity to review a soy candle by Soy Delites thanks to Mom Fuse.

Their handmade soy candles are made in Austin Texas and made with 100% natural soybean wax and cotton wicks.    They come in an array of styles and scents which include votives, tealights, travel tins and their signature glasses.

The scent I chose was the was the Vanilla Soy Candle.  Immediately opening the package I could smell the sweet scent of vanilla.  I have a really had time sometimes finding candles that have a powerful scent to fill my house.  I have my candle in the kitchen and half the time I don’t even have it lit and you can smell it through half my house.  Their glass jars are very thick and the candle is well made.

Soy candles have become the healthy alternative to paraffin candles.  Most candles are paraffin wax candles due to the cost effectiveness to using petroleum products however, burning paraffin wax contributes to indoor contamination.  Soy burns much cleaner and and purer and is all natural, non-toxic and non-hazardous.

What’s also great about Soy Delites is they are a husband and wife team based out of their home.  Each candle is hand poured to ensure the highest quality.

To see all the great products that Soy Delites has to offer, check them out here!

Thanks again Mom Fuse and Soy Delites for this great opportunity!

Young crush

My son has a girlfriend.  LOL!  Nicki’s friend that spent the night this weekend.  Every time she would come in to the room he would wave at her and if she stayed in the room, he would go sit on her lap.  The other night I was getting his pj’s on and he kept pulling them up like Steve Urkel and trying to make her laugh.  The more she giggled, the higher he pulled his shorts up.  LOL!

What a stud!

Swine Flu scare

Monday, May 4th, 2009

My biggest fear is that my children will catch that flu.  Especially the two lil ones.  I am just not sure they would be able to recover from it.  When I go to the store I don’t bring them.

I personally have been feeling really rough, sort of like the flu minus the fever, but I just blame it on the pregnancy.

Tony, however, woke up the other day really tired and achy.  He has been working a lot of hours and not getting a lot of sleep.  As of today, he has worked 11 days straight and they are all 11+ hour days.  In the past he has gotten this way were he slows, when his body has a moment of downtime it just kinda shuts down from being so exhausted.  Well when he went to work the other day I told him to let me know if he started to fever or throw up.  A few hours after getting to work and he messaged me and told me he had a 100.4 fever but he still had an appetite.  I said the raised body temp could be just from running around working in a hot kitchen.  When he came home that night at midnight, he went straight to bed.  He woke up in the morning he said he felt a lot better.  I think he just needed to rest.  My children have not shown any signs of a fever so we can only hope.

Thankfully tomorrow is his day off.  :-)

Um…..

Monday, May 4th, 2009

So really there hasn’t been much going on lately.  I eat, sleep and poop.  LOL!  I feel like I have been hit by a truck and I have all day nausea.  I lay on the couch all day and watch my kids play.  It’s great because they are getting a little older so they actually interact with each other.  I love watching them.  I don’t even feel like blogging or doing arts and crafts.  I just can’t wait for these initial months pass and I just feel like crap because I will feel like a beached whale.  I am guess-timating that I am about 8 weeks so that only leaves me 32 weeks to go….WOOHOO!!!

A little bit about my family:
I am a SAHM of 4 wonderful children and I have the most amazing boyfriend! I am trying to get my online business up and running. Paper crafts and scrapbooking is what I love to do in my free time (when I get some, 4 kids keep me busy) and to try and turn my hobby into a way to make money so I can stay home with my kids that would be wonderful. If you are in to paper crafting and scrapbooking or know someone that is please check out my online store: Artfuldelight.com. Nicki, Tony, Isabel and Max are the joy in my life, I love being home with them but sometimes money can be tight. Hopefully I can have some success with this store.
