Gonzaga Online Degree

Well, we’ve been here in Virginia for a couple/few months now, and Tony’s job is going pretty well. His biggest challenge seems to be adapting to the new theory of leadership for the company he’s working for. Apparently, he’s really good at training and setting expectations, and following up, and being stern when he has to, and patting people on the back when they deserve it. He had to do all of that at the restaurant, but everyone has different expectations of grocery store managers.
Maybe it has to do with the fact that grocery store managers are responsible for about 5 times as many people as he is used to, but I got bored so I started looking for leadership classes online. I found an online college that offers an Organizational development degree; it’s called Gonzaga. I did a little researching, and they are accredited and get good marks from review publications like US News and World Report, The Princeton Review, and Forbes. I like that it’s online, and now that he has a real work schedule, he has time off every week. Wouldn’t hurt him to put down the video games every once in a while *smile*.
What I didn’t know is that Organizational Leadership can usually fill the bill for Organizational Development courses, and offer more job paths at the same time. I mean, it’s great that bills are getting paid and the job isn’t too hard for him to do, but eventually, I just KNOW he’s going to want to be more than a deli manager. This would be a good paper to have under his belt. It might really pave the way for him to get into management type management with this company.
All in all, I’m glad that I’m not the one looking at doing it, because it seems like a lot of work, but it’s good to know that he can get something like this if he wants it.
