Sometimes it feels like I post a whole lot more often than I do. Well we had a great weekend and decent first days of the week. I am down to less than 5 weeks until delivery date. Oh and the other update since the last I posted is that our mouse count is up to 8! Yes that’s right I said 8!
Tony bought more traps Saturday night after we had caught those 2. He ended up getting 4 and putting them various places we knew the mice liked to run. By 8am we had caught 3. Then by the afternoon we caught another. So the rest of Sunday and all of yesterday we didn’t see anymore. I felt a bit relieved but couldn’t do the victory dance quite yet.
Today Nicki didn’t have school, teacher planning day or something. Well when she went down stairs in the basement to get the dog food (we have a bin filled with food) she said she reached in and saw this thing scurry to the side of the bin. She didn’t see what it was but figured it was a mouse. She decided to close the lid, there was a hole in the bin so that is how they were getting in. Well she made sure to close off the hole. I immediately went and woke Tony up. When he went to see what she caught, he found 2 mice in the bucket. They managed to get in but were unable to get out.
Now we live in a 70yr old house. The basement foundation is cracking and there are a lot of places these little critters can get in. Well when Tony was in the basement he found a spot that may have been dug out by the mice. He doesn’t know for certain. What I do know is that there are plenty of places they can come in. The good thing for now is that even today I did not see any mice upstairs in the laundry room. 8 mice though, that is a bit nuts.
Tomorrow will be a pretty busy day, I have a baby doctor appt in the morning and then just after that one I have an appt at an optometrist for Isabel.
See when Isabel was a lil baby she did this thing with her eyes, like when she laughed her eyes would get big and sort of roll back, you saw more white than pupil. The doctors showed some concern but not much. It was more of a precautionary suggestion to see an optometrist back then. Well we didn’t want to jump to any conclusions so we never took her. Well her eyes got better by the time she was about 6 months.
We took her to the doctor for a well visit last week and when the doctor was checking her eyes he said something didn’t line up. Ya know when they turn the lights off and shine the light in their eyes. So he suggested going to an optometrist. I am not saying I know or feel one way or the other on this. Maybe there is something and maybe not, what I will say is when he was trying to do the exam with her eyes she kept turning and looking away. She wouldn’t sit still so that may have made it difficult to get a good look. I am going to go and just get it over with, try and rule things out early. This is the second doctor that suggested going and so I think I should just check it out. I mean when you look at her in the eyes it doesn’t look like anything is wrong. He thinks she may have a slight lazy eye. I dunno but we will see what happens tomorrow.
The good thing is tomorrow I thought I was going to have to take Tony to work so I can have the car, still functioning with just one and that would have wasted a lot of gas. Thankfully I was talking to my friend tonight and I told her I was taking him to work. She asked why and when I explained she said I could use her van. I thought, that would be great. So I won’t have to wake at the ass crack of dawn, wake the kids and take him to work, sitting in the car for 2 1/2 hours. I would run all my errands and then have to sit in the car again for another 2 1/2 hours just to pick him up. So I am really happy about that.
