Just over a week
I am so counting down the days until school starts. It is only 10 days away, holy crap! Earlier in the week I made some book bags for me, Tony and Nicki. It took me about 2 days. Thankfully Tony had off so I was able to concentrate on it. Here are some pictures:
I made a computer/laptop sleeve to match my book bag. The top picture is my bag, then Nicki’s and then Tony’s. I think I may make one more bag for myself. I have 3 classes that I actually have to be in school for, the other one is an e-learning course (online). Two of the three classes I have on the same day and the other one is on a day with no other classes. So I would like to have a bag for my books for just that class, and then the other bag for the books for the 2 classes I have on the same days. Does that make sense.
So some days I wish, well most days I wish we lived close to family. Mostly because I miss them, I wish my kids had a closer relationship with them. And a small part of me wishes to be close so they could watch my kids. I say small because I don’t like to be away from them very often or for very long. Whenever I go to the store or to the gym or well anywhere alone, I can’t wait to get back to them. Here’s the thing, Tony and I have not been out alone in over 3 yrs. Well actually that is not totally accurate. We went to a midnight showing of Dinner for Schmucks 2 weeks ago. It was late enough at night that the kids were asleep, except for Nicki. So she sort of babysat. But we were gone for 2 hours and we sat in the dark watching a movie. It was nice, don’t get me wrong but I wish we could have an overnight adventure somewhere or a weekend alone. I posted on Facebook about how I missed being able to just veg in bed. Not that I want it all the time, just once in a blue moon. And I jokingly asked if anyone wanted to watch my kids for 24 hrs. LOL! Yeah, most people thought I was nuts, except my Aunt Barb. When I went home to visit over the summer I had so many family members say they would watch our kids so we could go out. I thought that was so sweet. Unfortunately we just didn’t have the time to get away like that. So when we get to move back home in 2 yrs, I will certainly take someone up on their offer.
Well anyways, my Aunt travels to D.C sometimes and she offered to watch the kids so Tony and I could go out. I thought that was so nice. Now it would be an overnighter somewhere so it’s not like we could one of the Outer Banks homes, that is certainly too far but maybe a hotel somewhere close so we could go to dinner and a movie and not have to go home. LOL! That would certainly be nice. :-)
I wish we could take an overnighter before school starts but since that is in just over a week, I don’t see that happening. I am just going to take it easy at home and mentally prepare myself for what’s to come.
