Presto Griddle

Friday, November 21st, 2008

I love my Presto Tilt and Drain Griddle I bought it a couple months ago because I used to make breakfast a lot.  I would make pancakes for Tony, Nicki and I and had a pan that would only cook one pancake at a time.  Let’s just say it took me about 30 minutes to cook all the pancakes.

So we purchased the griddle.  We did a lot of research to find the one that seemed to have the biggest cooking space.  The griddle is huge and has a non-stick surface that is great.  It makes for extremely easy clean up.  The first thing I cooked on the griddle was pancakes, I could fit at least 9 pancakes on there at one time.  I was done in no time.  If we make grilled cheese sandwiches, we can make all the sandwiches at once.

So tonight I decided that I was going to make my turkey burgers.  OMG they are tasty.  I was able to fit 6 medium sized burgers, 4 slices of turkey bacon and 3 whole buns on the griddle at once.  It was awesome.

My turkey burgers are SCRUM-DIDDLY-UMPTIOUS!!!!!!

Tony had 3 burgers.  I put a lot of veggies in them, Tony likes it that way.  He says that way all the veggies (plus some) that he would normally put on top are just cooked right in and it makes for a way less messy burger.  Ya know since he needs to put tomatoes and pickles and all the condiments on there.

They were tasty!!!

Chicken Cordon Bleu

Sunday, November 16th, 2008

I think I am going to have to pat myself on the back again…..I made some DELICIOUS Chicken Cordon Bleu.  I read Kat’s blog where she did the review on the George Foreman G-Broil grill and she made Cordon Bleu.

Well since I really enjoy making homemade foods I decided tonight I would make the Cordon Bleu from scratch.  It was so tasty.  I made the chicken, stove top stuffing (chicken flavor) and some corn.

I unfortunately did not have the cool grill so I just baked mine in the oven.  I pounded out the chicken and stuffed them with the cheese and ham.  The only difficult part was keeping the chicken folded.  I used toothpicks and it seemed to hold ok.  They didn’t look real pretty but that tasted darn good.

Thanks to Kat for making hers look so tasty, seeing hers is what made me want to make my own.

I already ate since Tony will be getting home kinda late from work.  I am so excited for Nicki and Tony to try it.

Best dessert ever…

Friday, November 7th, 2008

I am completely addicted to a Weight Watchers dessert.  I eat one every night and I never crave any sort of sweets at all.  They are low fat/low calorie and can kill 3 cravings in 1.  Your ice cream, cookies and chocolate cravings fulfilled all in one.  It is called Smart Ones cookie dough sundae.  I recommend everyone tries one.

Yummy Peanut Butter Granola

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

I love making homemade foods.  Since I am trying to feed my family healthy, low calorie, low fat foods, I was on a mission to find a tasty granola recipe.   After many tries I found a delicious Peanut Butter Granola that I will share with all of you.  Now I am really trying to get more fiber in our diet so my granola recipe has some Fiber One cereal, you can substitute that for more Rice Krispies or Rolled Oats.

So here’s the recipe:

2 1/2 cups Rice Krispies cereal
1 1/2 cups Fiber One cereal
1 1/2 cups Rolled Oats
1/2 Honey
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup peanut butter
2 tbsps vanilla extract

Heat oven to 450 degrees and in a pan put the Rolled Oats, Rice Krispies and Fiber One cereal and bake for about 10 min,  (Just enough to heat and brown the mixture).  In a sauce pan heat honey, brown sugar and vanilla until a liquid.  When cereal is done browning combine liquid with the cereal mixing well (coating all the cereal).  Finally add the peanut butter and mix well.  Flatten mixture on a  greased cookie sheet and let cool, several hours.  Once cooled cut into bars and they are ready to eat.

ENJOY!!

A little bit about my family:
I am a SAHM of 4 wonderful children and I have the most amazing boyfriend! I am trying to get my online business up and running. Paper crafts and scrapbooking is what I love to do in my free time (when I get some, 4 kids keep me busy) and to try and turn my hobby into a way to make money so I can stay home with my kids that would be wonderful. If you are in to paper crafting and scrapbooking or know someone that is please check out my online store: Artfuldelight.com. Nicki, Tony, Isabel and Max are the joy in my life, I love being home with them but sometimes money can be tight. Hopefully I can have some success with this store.
