Clorox Disinfecting Wipes Decor Canister Review and BONUS Giveaway!

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
When I think of Clorox, I think of bleach and when I think of bleach I think of all the germs that are being killed.  LOL!  When it comes to cleanliness for the sake of my 3 kids, I do try to stay on top of things.  Yeah sometimes I get a bit behind on my chores.  My heavy duty cleaning is saved for once a week.  I hate to have to pull out all the spray bottles and rags just to wipe a counter or a spill on the floor.  With 3 kids spills happen often.

Convenience is key when it comes to clean ups.  When you have a very curious 20 month and 8 month old you have to go for FAST clean up.  What better way to do that then with a convenient canister of Clorox Disinfecting Wipes.  Even better, Clorox has come up with a new  Decorative Canister.  Actually they have a range of decor canisters made to compliment your home.

I was given the opportunity to try out a canister.  I was sent the pink flower canister, they have 8 different designs.   The first thing I noticed was the refreshing scent of lemon.  To me in a kitchen lemon scent always makes me think of fresh and clean.  Each wipe is thick and textured for even the toughest caked on spills.  I used it to clean my glass top stove and it, with no trouble, removed the baked on food.  It also left the surface streak free.  The pre-moistened disinfecting wipe kills 99.9% of common household germs.

NOW to the great news, thanks to Mom Fuse and Clorox, I am given the opportunity to giveaway coupons for free Clorox Disinfecting Wipes Decor Canisters.  I have 5 coupons to give away!  YIPPEE, 5 winners!

So here are the rules:

The required entry is, you MUST visit Clorox and tell me one cleaning tip you read about AND what canister design you would chose.  Please leave me a comment for each entry, here are additional ways to enter:

2) tweet about the giveaway

3) grab my button (code on the right sidebar), this will give you 2 entries

This giveaway will end March 31 at 11:59pm EST.

No-Slip Charlie Review with BONUS giveaway!

Sunday, March 8th, 2009

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I’d like to say after 3 kids that I’m a pro, ya know been there done that a million times. Let’s face it though, no matter how many times you bath your kids, they are going to be just as slippery today as they were yesterday. Wet babies are slippery lil boogers. :-) Have I ever dropped my kids, absolutely NOT….have I come close? You betcha. When taking my kids out of the tub I use extra special caution and focus everything on what I am doing. Your hands are slippery and wet and so are your precious little ones. Accidents can happen to the most “professional” “been there done that a million times” kind of people.

So I was given the opportunity from Mom Fuse and No-Slip Charlie to try out a pair of No-Slip Charlie’s just in the nick of time.  Last week we had a close one with my lil Isabel, as I was trying to wrap her in the towel after her bath, she started to slip.  I quickly got her wrapped in the towel and I am happy to say, NO ACCIDENTS.

Now I have no worries with this cool pair of No-Slip Charlie.  Basically it is a finger(tip)less pair of gloves with Velcro on it to attach a wash-glove.  I think this is a great idea.  I tried it out last night and I was very pleased.

You slip on the gloves and then the wash cloth.  Bath your kids and when you are done just remove the cloth and take your child out of the tub.

I would like to say the only con is that there is only Velcro on one side of the glove and wash cloth.  It kinda felt like the cloth was going to fall off and every few seconds I caught myself adjusting and pulling it back on.  I mean it stayed on really well were it was Velcro’d but on the side there wasn’t any, it was slipping off.

The Velcro is only used with the cloth when bathing your child so it doesn’t take away from the real purpose of the fingerless gloves.  That is the part that worked great when I pulled my lil one out of the tub.

Overall I was very pleased with the No-Slip Charlie.

No-Slip Charlie has given the opportunity to one of my readers to win a pair of these great gloves.

These have been added to my March Madness giveaways.  This GIVEAWAY will end March 31 @ midnight EST.

Magic Senses – Designer Glycerin Soap Review and BONUS Giveaway!

Saturday, February 28th, 2009

I received a package in the mail the other day, when I opened my mailbox it was filled with a wonderful scent.  I didn’t realize until after I looked at the package that it was what was coming from the envelope.

I opened the mailing envelope and the scent just billowed out, it was such a pretty smell.  Then I also remembered that I had to actually use the soap.  LOL!  It is so pretty and smells so good that I just wanted to put it on display in my bathroom.

The butterfly soap is absolutely adorable and very well made.  The soap lathers up really nice and it leaves my hands feeling clean.  It doesn’t leave any filmy residue or dry out my hands.

Magic Senses is a family owned company founded in 2005 with a mission to handcraft unique personal care products.  They have grown so much over the year that they now have 55 different scents and designs.

I have my soap in the hall bathroom and I can smell the scent of the soap all through my living room. It is great!

In addition to the BONUS giveaway Magic Senses is also offering a discount coupon code that expires December 31, 2009.

Code: mom

Discount:  15% off

Minimum order: $15

Note: the coupon is good for all categories with the exception of the Soap Subscriptions and the produts already on sale.

I am really pleased with the soap and will probably be purchasing some for my new place I am moving to next week.  I personally would like the French Vanilla Handcrafted Glycerin Soap.

Book Review – Travia: The Ultimate Book of Travel Trivia

Thursday, February 26th, 2009

I was given the opportunity from Mom Fuse to review a book of my choice from Intrepid Traveler.  They have a list of great informational books.  The book I chose was Travia:  The Ultimate Book of Travel Trivia by Nadine Godwin.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I chose this book because I thought my daughter would enjoy reading facts about different parts of the world.  Some of you may be a veteran of travel or may be traveling for the first time but I think you will find these facts very interesting.

I mean when you go on a Cruise do you really think about what goes in to making your voyage an enjoyable one.  Just the basics from your meals to the little pieces of chocolate on your pillow.

The Carnival Cruise Lines’ largest ships which accommodate up to 2,974 passengers uses 30,000 towels and 5 million bars of soap. It also requires 58,000 light bulbs in a year.

There is a place in New Zealand with the longest name, 58 letters:

Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupokai-whenuakitanatahu

How do you say that?  LOL!

Or there is the shortest name place of Y, Alaska and Y, France.

I haven’t made my way through the whole book yet as I am going through a move right now but it seems to me it’s one of those books that you can pick up and read a few pages at a time and get some really interesting facts.  I couldn’t see myself sitting down for long periods of time getting completely entranced in reading, like I would a thriller or love story.  It is a very informative book with an abundance of facts from all over the world. Things you never really thought about before, during or after your travels.

If you want to learn more interesting facts, purchase this book…Travia:  The Ultimate Book of Travel Trivia.

About the Author:

Nadine Godwin is one of the most experienced and respected journalists in the travel and tourism industry.  She began 34 yrs ago with Travel Weekly, America’s leading travel newspaper.  She worked her way to the top, starting as a reporter to managing editor to editor in chief.  She is now Travel Weekly’s editor at large.  She frequently speaks at travel events, she is the author of thousands of articles about the travel business.  She is a friend and confidante to hundreds of travel industry colleagues from whom the “travia” items were collected.

Planning a trip to Disney World or Disneyland?  Well check out Intrepid Traveler and see all the great books they have to help you in your travels.  Taking an RV trip in Europe, they have just the book for you.

So with that I leave you with this tidbit of information:  Did you know there is an American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR).  They have about 50,000 members in North America and they help them find resorts and other facilities for clothes-free/clothing-optional vacations.

WOW!  I didn’t realize there were that many people out there that enjoy vacationing nude.  :-)

Thanks again Mom Fuse and Intrepid Traveler for this great opportunity!

High IntenCITY Hair Ties Review

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I was given the opportunity from Mom Fuse to review some of High IntenCITY hair ties.

Since 1993 High IntenCITY has been designing jewelry and accessories for girls, teens and tweens.  My daughter was sent some hair ties.  They are very bright and colorful and the decoration on the band is really cute and girly. They have a lot of elasticity.

The hair bands were held together with a Rainbow pendant that my daughter turned in to a necklace.  She loves it and wears it everyday.

Remi-D Hand Sanitizer Review

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

This opportunity could not have come at a better time.  Over the last 2 weeks we have been the house of colds and flus.  In addition as my son gets older, the more germy stuff he wants to get in to.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I was sent a sample bottle of Remi-D hand sanitizer and I immediately noticed it didn’t have the normal alcohol scent that some of the other hand sanitizers have.  It had a wonderful cucumber tea tree scent. This product is all natural, alcohol free and safe for kids.  Because it is alcohol free it doesn’t dry out your hands like some of the other products.

I also like it because it comes in a spray bottle.  It gentle mists some “gel” on your hands.  The bottles that you have to squirt on your hands usually dispenses way too much and it takes a minute or so to dry.  This bottle says that you can get up to 300 sprays.

Coming soon it will have 3 great scents, the cucumber tea tree, mountain stream and seaside mineral spa.  Not only do they sell the sanitizing mist but they also have foaming soaps.  I love those.

So check out the Remi-D website for all their great products.

Thanks Mom Fuse and Remi-D for this opportunity!

Nubar Cosmetics Review

Monday, February 16th, 2009

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Thanks to Mom Fuse and Nubar I was given the opportunity to review some nail polish and hand lotion.  Nubar sells carcinogenic free nail care products, which is a cancer-causing substance. The products are also formaldehyde, toluene and phthalate free. These products are free of all the toxins that are put in all the other nail care products.

On a quick side note, I never really realized all that is in the other nail polish and quite frankly it makes me a little nervous. Not only for myself but I use that stuff on my girls nails. Basically I am putting a cancer-causing, flammable, toxic, acidic substance on my nails and my children’s nails. That is a little scary.  Especially for my youngest daughter.  She is still a little young for nail polish but she is a thumb sucker and may still suck her thumb when she is a little older.  Do I really want her sucking her fingers with all the toxins on there?  No, not really.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Anyways, I was sent a really pretty pink nail polish color and some lotion. First I would like to say the smell of this lotion is fabulous.  I was sent the Hypnotic Skin Essentials.   It has a wonderful hint of citrus. The lotion does not leave my hands feeling oily and greasy. They feel soft and smooth. When I use the lotion, I catch myself smelling my hands periodically until the scent wears off. Yummy!  LOL!

The nail polish was a pretty shade of pink. It went on really smooth and covered my nails really nicely. Now I am not sure if it is because I have my hands in water a lot but I did notice that the nail polish was chipping off  the tip of my nails by the end of the day. I will say that is a great trade though, having all those toxins in your polish I am sure will keep the polish on longer but do you really want all those toxins on you?

Overall I am really pleased with these products.  I feel pretty confident that I will buy their products in the future, especially the hand and body lotion.  Check out Nubar for all their great products they have to offer.

Thanks again Mom Fuse and Nubar for this great opportunity.

A little bit about my family:
I am a SAHM of 4 wonderful children and I have the most amazing boyfriend! I am trying to get my online business up and running. Paper crafts and scrapbooking is what I love to do in my free time (when I get some, 4 kids keep me busy) and to try and turn my hobby into a way to make money so I can stay home with my kids that would be wonderful. If you are in to paper crafting and scrapbooking or know someone that is please check out my online store: Artfuldelight.com. Nicki, Tony, Isabel and Max are the joy in my life, I love being home with them but sometimes money can be tight. Hopefully I can have some success with this store.
